Privacy Policy
Last updated [Month DD, YYYY]
This policy covers this website only. Protected health information created once you become a client is handled under the practice's Notice of Privacy Practices, which you receive at intake.
What we collect
Information you send us. If you use the inquiry form, we receive your name, pronouns, age, phone number, email address, location, the services and session format you're interested in, your availability, how you heard about us, parent or guardian details if you're under 18, and what you write about your goals and past therapy or coaching. If you email us or book a consultation, we receive whatever you choose to include.
Basic technical information. Like most websites, our host records standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps — to keep the site running and secure.
Please don't send clinical details
Email and the inquiry form are for scheduling and general questions. Please keep it brief and non-clinical: no diagnoses, medication lists, symptom histories, or details about anyone else's care.
Email and this website's inquiry form are not monitored around the clock and are not secure channels. Do not use them for emergencies or to share clinical details.
How we use it
To reply to you, arrange a consultation, and keep a record of enquiries. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it is stored
This site is served by Firebase Hosting, operated by Google, and does not store anything you type into it. Inquiry form submissions are delivered to our inbox by FormSubmit. Email is handled by our email provider, and bookings by Calendly.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't become clients are kept for [retention period] and then deleted. Client records are kept for the period California law requires — at minimum seven years after the last date of service, or seven years after a minor client turns 18.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. The booking calendar is provided by Calendly and only loads when you choose to book; Calendly may set its own cookies and asks for your consent before setting optional ones. If analytics are added later, this policy will be updated first and the tool will be configured to anonymise IP addresses.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@ishakbhatt.com. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA; we will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information through it. Therapy with adolescent clients is arranged with a parent or guardian.
This page is general information, not legal advice. Questions about your own situation are best answered directly — hello@ishakbhatt.com.
